We chose this particular cruise as it coincided with our 50th Wedding Anniversary, the particular tour we part of { Maple Leaf tours out of Kingston Ontario Canada}, was a NO FLY tour which made it particularly appealing, not having to deal with an airport. The FREE Gratuities and FREE Drinks package was also a huge factor in our choosing this cruise. The staff we interacted with was professional, friendly and conscientious. Our cabin was always spick and span and anything asked for was always provided immediately. The dining room experience was not exceptional to say the least. The steak was tough the breakfast cold by the time it reached us. The buffet dining while hectic was usually, hot, plentiful and there was a great variety of food to choose from. Going back to the Title of my review, one evening while dining at the Orchid Room, the music coming from the Magnum Lounge below was SO LOUD, that we were unable to talk to the couple with us and could not hear the waitress and she could not hear us. As the Maitre D was standing at the side observing the room and talking to another NCL Staff Member (blue suit with lots of gold), I made a point for going over and asking that the music be turned down a notch or two. My husband reverted to taking out his hearing aids! This also holds true for the Stardust Theatre {mic'd so loud that we could not understand the lyrics in many cases}, the Spinnaker Lounge during Bingo and Deal or No Deal {so loud that we could not hear our friends talking), etc . etc. etc. NOT ALL PASSENGERS ON THE SHIP ARE 20 SOMETHINGS WITH NO HEARING PROBLEMS!
