I chose this cruise for several reasons. Our first cruise was with,Royal Caribbean, second with Carnival. The Royal Caribbean cruise was so much better we decided to go back. The dates worked well with our schedule and I really liked the idea of a 9- night cruise. Baltimore is only a 3- hour drive and this made it appealing. Embarkation and disembarkation was extremely easy and most of the personnel were friendly.
The food quality in the main dinning room was mediocre. The presentation of the food was nice but was often bland and lacked seasoning. Even food promoted as spicy was plain. We were also disappointed that there were fewer free restaurant options. You should not have to pay extra money for good food, that's one of the main reason you choose a cruise over other vacations. Stay away from the art auction, staff is very pushy, fake and aggressive. However the service throughout the rest of the ship was outstanding especially Leah and Dejan in the main dining room. The Casino staff was helpful patient while explaining the various games. Paul the Cruise Director was wonderful and the entertainers were fantastic. We really had a good time and definitely would go back again.
We were a bit disappointed with the cabin, only had two electric outlets which made it difficult to charge 2 cell phones, and my husbands hearing aids overnight. Also, we couldn't use the hair dryer, or charge my Fitbit while trying to charge phones. The shower was ridiculously small, I could barley move without getting water all over the floor and I am 4'10". The beds were comfortable but the mattresses kept separating. Cabin steward was like a Ninja, we rarely actually saw him but our bed was made, room clean, trash emptied and clean towels appeared throughout the day.
