Cabin: Large Ocean View Stateroom

Days 1-9 were fabulous. It was our honeymoon. The staff was ever ready to help us with questions, things we needed, extras like cushions on the bed, or non-dairy ice cream after dinner in the Great Gatsby. The shore excursions were excellent, our schedules were full, the activities were numerous, the weather was perfect, the ship seemed clean and looked well kept. The food was good and the ambiance in the dining rooms were lavish. We played hard and we slept well, we dined and we shopped, we were pampered and massaged.

Of days 10, 11, and 12, the Norovirus shared between the two of us in our cabin overshadowed the once wonderful memories of days 1-9. We received excellent care right up until we were sick and then it was impossible to get help with clean up, cleaning supplies, disinfectants, or room service after they quarantined us to our rooms. I learned that there were only 9 sick with the norovirus on the whole ship. If that was the case, why was there no help for us? We couldn't go out of our room, I understand that. But why couldn't they send someone up to simply help us clean up so that it wouldn't spread?

They called to tell us not to disembark with the rest of the passengers. They called to tell us not to put our bags out in the hall. They called to tell us we should wait until someone came to get us and our luggage at 9:30am after everyone else had gone. When my husband was diagnosed with the norovirus, he wasn't allowed out. Although I showered and washed every chance I got, they wouldn't give me supplies to sanitize our cabin and I was allowed to freely wander the ship, infecting people wherever I went. I was sick within 24 hours of my husband. Free room service isn't as exciting when you're vomiting up bottled water and anti-diarrhea pills. People would come to our door to bring us things, no smiles, no looks of sympathy. Their expressions were more like looks of revulsion and disgust as they kept their distance. We might have been able to drink a bottle of gatorade on the last day, but room service was shut down on the last morning. We were really too exhausted to pack up our bags but we did. Then at 9am someone knocked at our door and asked us why we were still in our room. He then also chastised us for not putting our luggage out the night before, as instructed.

Cabin Review

Large Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin F

The cabin was roomy, had a good view, offered lots of storage space, even if you didn't pack light. I would have liked a few more hooks to hang lanyards, jackets, towels, swimsuits, etc. The bed was comfy, the room was surprisingly quiet considering the number of people on board, I would have expected to hear noises. but heard nothing. The bathroom is small, but roomy enough for one person at a time at the sink. I don't like the shower curtain touching me as I wash, but I adjusted where I stood and was able to avoid it.
