We enjoyed the cruise except for the horrible noises coming from the cabin walls during the first two days of the cruise. We could not sleep. Winds and seas were not that high to warrant these loud noises. The problem was not just in our cabin. Many cabins on Plaza and Promanade decks were affected. Princess did nothing to fix the problem.

The food and service were great, as was the entertainment. The selection of food available in the dining rooms and in the cafe was extensive. Even the best cuts of beef were served.

Can't beat the muster. Cool and comfortable.

Cabin OC

We had just embarked on our cruise when we noticed a problem with our cabin. It was quite noisy, in that it there were creaking sounds coming from just above the window. These sounds were not from the outside. There were coming from the structure of the wall/window. We thought they might only be temporary so we did not complain on Saturday. That night the sounds got louder and we were both unable to sleep the entire night. In the morning, when we opened our door, we noticed the people next door had their cabin door open. The first thing they said to us was "did you hear those noises all night long"? We both complained to the customer service desk. I was told that they would look into it and get back to us.

When we did not hear back by mid afternoon, I went back to the desk and was asked to wait about 20 minutes. At that time I was ushered into the office of the Customer Relations Manager. She tried to blame the "high seas and wind". I told her I have been on more than 20 cruises and never heard noises like that, even in much higher seas. Seas were only 6-8 feet and winds 20 knots. At that point I insisted on someone coming to my cabin to check it out since nobody had done that. An engineer arrived at my cabin in 2 minutes and explained to me the the noises were due to the "ships structure" and "one plate was moving over another one". I told him I was on 20 plus ships and he said that this ship has "a structural design defect".

We were not able to sleep for 2 nights until the seas went smooth.

The cabin was also dirty when we arrived. However our cabin attendant was very good and resolved that issue promptly.
