We wanted to visit the countries nearer the artic circle, especially Iceland.
We have done about 6 Princess Cruises over past 15 years, and without doubt we have found that since Princess Cruises sold out to Carnival, the standards have dropped dramatically, while the dollar gouging has increased with hidden charges and overpriced ship items.
The compulsory tipping levy to me has always been a bit much, not allowing individual passengers to choose who to tip and with what amount. Princess should increase wages and include in the fare costs, not hide this cost in compulsory tipping.
Cabin was fine with usual Princess amenities, but simple bathroom with average fittings does not add to experience.
The whole cabin was showing signs of age with chipped paint and railing on balcony showing signs of the need for repair, with rust etc.
Did not like the overcrowded and way over priced restaurants at key tourist spots
Great tour inland visiting all highlights with a hire car we drove
Beautiful scenery with a pretty port and exploring on foot
Great long 8 hour tour with seasoned driver who knew so much. although long and tiring the sights were worth it
Relaxing old city with many historic sights,. We walked all over and enjoyed most, but arrived back at ship wet and tired because of weather and steep hilly roads
wonderfully friendly place with local all too willing to help with directions and advice. They even had a service to ship visitors whee local picked you up without prompting and transported you to where you wished to go.
The harbour and restaurants were very interesting and worth the visit.
Loved Brugge and Brussels
