We wanted to visit the countries nearer the artic circle, especially Iceland. We have done about 6 Princess Cruises over past 15 years, and without doubt we have found that since Princess Cruises sold out to Carnival, the standards have dropped dramatically, while the dollar gouging has increased with hidden charges and overpriced ship items. The compulsory tipping levy to me has always been a bit much, not allowing individual passengers to choose who to tip and with what amount. Princess should increase wages and include in the fare costs, not hide this cost in compulsory tipping. The staff were exemplary despite their low wages, providing warm and excellent service throughout the ship. But and it is a big BUT, the food quality and range available has decreased dramatically, with most savoury food being over seasoned especially with salt, and getting to the stage that just about every savoury dish started to taste the same with similar seasoning. Very off putting if you are on a 2-3 week cruise. Range of sweet foods was ok but not imaginative, leaving one seeking on shore restaurants when available for some respite and pleasure. Range of activities are dull and rather childish in many cases, not providing stimulating adult entertainment, especially when at sea for 4 days straight in wet stormy weather.....boring. My advice....if looking at Princess for your next cruise...look elsewhere as there is much better on offer with other cruise lines now.

Not up to usual standard

Cabin Review

Balcony
Cabin BA 532
Cabin was fine with usual Princess amenities, but simple bathroom with average fittings does not add to experience.
The whole cabin was showing signs of age with chipped paint and railing on balcony showing signs of the need for repair, with rust etc.
Aloha Deck Inside Cabins, Balcony Cabins, Suite Cabins
