Embarkation was smooth in Boston. (It would have been nice to have had an option of a morning tour of the city. There was time. We had just arrived at nine the previous night from the UK. Unfamiliar surroundings and rain stopped us from venturing out on our own. )

The ship is a bit quirky for moving around and sometimes decks were closed for 'work'. Luckily it reminded us of the Jade. We had a dining package. Thank goodness. I had booked the Moderno on night 1. Lovely experience, meal at 7 and quiet. The second night we went to the Venetian, MDR) and were shocked that there was a 45 minute wait!!! You should book before you go on holiday. Obviously few people did! The Aqua served us better and 15 minutes after saying we were happy to share we were seated. The woman in charge of seating us was a saint. Not an easy job. We can also recommend Le Bistro and Cagneys. Service in the Bamboo was also top knotch. We love to relax and listen to music in the evening. Grand Atrium musicians- a duo and a trio- were excellent. Do not miss the Elements Show or Harry Donaghue. We love to quiz. Gatsby's a bit smoky because of the closeness to the Cigar Room! Not really ideal. More quizzes please. Good questions but the technology was a bit old school. Needs to be slicker. It's the 21st century and technology is moving fast. Personalities on board work hard to make you enjoy yourself. Excursions: Loved Portland, Maine. Everything was interesting round the port in Halifax and we took the Pink Hoho. Great! There was nothing in Sydney. We were not there long enough to do the best tours. Disappointing. I guess this was because of the last minute change from Gaspe. Loved Charlottetown. Tour to the Confederation Bridge was in a bus that had lost its suspension. Spoiled the journey, particularly for my husband with a bad back. Shame. Sanguenay was amazing. Cool weather and very warm welcome. La Fabuleuse was fantastic. The best theatre I have seen in a long time. Not Shakespeare or Miller but wow, wow, wow. Disembarkation in Quebec was awful. Low tide seemingly the problem. Really? Never had low tide before?

Toilet was a bit small. Shower was great as was storage space. One drawer was stuck but we did not need it. Storage for cases under the bed. It was a bit far from the elevators for my husband but few people passed by. Other people complained about noise from the theater below. We heard this once in rehearsal and it was quite enjoyable and low key. We are early to bed and never heard the shows at night. One morning arriving at seven in a port it was noisy. I, however, just wanted to get up on deck and see where we were.

Port Reviews

Sydney (Nova Scotia)

Disappointed here. Nothing on offer. Pink Hoho office unattended for over an hour and a half. My husband has mobility/ walking issues. We were in the port for such a short time. Free wifi inside the immigration hall was the best thing.
