We chose this cruise because the starting price for a two week cruise was less than a one week cruise. By the time it all added up, it was $1700 Canadian dollars for the two weeks....about $14,000 US for two weeks Vancouver to Alaska round trip. I really liked that they have a lot of choice in Vegetarian food. Even the Kosher menu had 6 vegetarian main courses. The Lido had a lot of vegetarian choices also. My favourite was the portobello mushroom burger with edam and cheddar cheese and avocado. It took a couple of days for them to get up to speed, we thought. The naturalist who was advertised to be on deck at a certain time, apparently never got on board the ship and it was never announced. As well, the games were not out where they were supposed to be and although guest services said they would send someone to bring them out, that person never arrived. But after these glitches, things were pretty great. The thing that was missing was the entertainment that is so much fun on a Princess Cruise. Although we loved the violin/piano duo (Adagio), we didn't enjoy the B.B. King Blues Band, or the jazz quartet - neither of them seeming that authentic. We would have liked more game show nights. Also there was too much piped in music in the halls, library and crow's nest. The comedian was excellent, and it is not easy to do such a clean show. We loved getting on and off in Vancouver - very convenient. So...all-in-all...great food, wish there was more entertainment.
It was perfectly fine.
We walked through town and loved the "Rusty Compass" coffee shop and bakery, with wifi.
