Cabin: Oceanview Stateroom

After embarking on to the ship at 12.30, we then had to wait until 7pm for our suitcases to appear at our cabin so we had to trudge around in our travel clothes and carry our small luggage around the ship whilst other people had got theirs and were enjoying their holiday. The food on this ship was substandard either lukewarm or cold in the restaurant which we paid extra for and the only good things to eat were the bread rolls and the cakes. The cabin was so noisy we thought a whole family of woodpeckers had moved in. The ship was dark and gloomy (refurbished in 2015!) compared to other cruise ships from what we have seen from their websites. There was nothing to do on board as people were playing cards as the entertainment was very low. The mini golf! was a joke which you got charged 10 euros each and we were only given one ball between two people. You could swing a cat around in the Arcade room (no cats were harmed). This room consisted of 1 shooting machine, 2 grab machines and a fun photo machine. They allowed smoking in one bar (Shelagh` Bar) even though it had a smoking room. You could smell the cigarette smoke as we were coming down the stairway. This bar was just about ok to sit in and have a drink or two around noontime but got worse throughout the day. This was our first cruise and it was awful and it has put us off cruising and we would never go with MSC again. You had to order two of everything on the menu as the portions were so small which was only suggested by our waiter that we could do this by the third day of the cruise. We were also rushed out so the next sitting could come in. This ship is nothing more than a glorified ferry. For part-time workers we paid quite a lot of money for this cruise that we were looking forward too but left deeply unimpressed and let down especially with MSC who thought it was ok just to leave us a plate of strawberries dipped in chocolate and a bottle of wine on the fourth day for the inconvenience. P.s People who get put in room 9224 will notice pieces of folded up paper stuck in the ceiling which are not ours but left by the former occupants of the room, my husband noticed these as he was doing the same. We removed the ones we put in on the dis-embarking day. On a last note :- Itinerary.... Mykonos & Ancona. Mykonos in the dark, would of loved to have a walk around and seen the windmills and taken photos. Couldn`t stay for the clubs to open which was 2am (had to be back on board 2.30) not that we like clubbing I think other people would liked it which brings me to Ancona (too much time spent hear which could of been used in the other ports) which should be called drop off some passengers and take more on. There is literally nothing hear to see....oh yes 1 Duomo & 1 Citadel. Are MSC Cruises the only ones that go here because the only cruise ships we saw here where the ones in dry dock getting refurbished which this ship needs. My point is why don`t MSC take the criticism and do something it. One good thing the crew and waiting staff were very good which were tipped at the last dinner by all our table.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin O2

We had to complain 3 times to the reception about the ratting and tapping noise coming from the cabin ceiling. No one believed us until we showed them what my husband had recorded on his phone. Did not sleep for three nights and after it was fixed (not 100%) by putting wedges in the ceiling it still was noisy. It was like a woodpecker tapping all the time. I wish I could of put the video (only photos)on to show what it was like but it doesn`t look like I can.
