I am a solo traveller I chose the cruise as I was given the impression by the travel agent that it would be free from many children and families and I needed time to relax away from noise. This was not the case. Children were allowed to roam free, running on decks and were not well supervised by their parents. I realise that this is not the fault of the ship but it would be better if people were given some sort of notice of the makeup of passengers the cruise would consist of so they could make informed decisions on their choice of cruise.

The staff were overworked on days at sea and could not keep up with providing the best services for all passengers through no fault of their own: for example plates and cutlery were not readily available in the cafe areas as the demand was great and they could not be collected and washed and replaced quick enough.

The staff were always friendly and helpful. The cost of the internet provision was extremely high and didn't always give the excellent service it advertised. I feel that it shouldn't matter which cabin you are in, drinking water in cabins should be provided free of charge. On my last cruise in concierge class I had a jug of water replenished daily, on this cruise in a verandah stateroom, the glasses were available but no jug of water.

Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah 1C

Cabin 1C

The cabin was excellent, very clean and well maintained with friendly staff.

Port Reviews

La Spezia (Cinque Terre)

Drove to Florence through the Tuscany countryside. Value for money as it was a 2 hour drive each way. Time was given to explore and shop.

Barcelona

The hop on hop off bus was a good way to see the city, however The commentary didn't work on the Green line tour therefore was not the best bus line to take.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Having a stay in Rome before the cruise was a great opportunity to see the city. My stay in the Colonna Palace hotel was a lovely start to the holiday, staff were very friendly, it was value for money with a lovely roof top breakfast area and a terrific menu included in the cost.

Malaga

Lovely clean city, great to wander around.

Ibiza

A walk through the old city is a must.

Cartagena (Spain)

Absolutely the nicest streets I have ever seen. The Roman ruins is a must to see but only opens late morning. Be aware that in most ports there are no public toilets and toilets can only be found in cafes, restaurants and some shops. This makes it a bit hard as you feel you need to buy something if you are using their facilities, though I think the shop keepers are ok with the fact you may not wish too.
