This 5 day cruise was a first vacation/first cruise for my 11 year old grandson. We purchased the Faster to the Fun package so we got to board first. We had a balcony room which was spacious enough and clean. Our cabin steward, Hamid, came by and introduced himself and asked our preference time for cleaning. We had lunch at the buffet which offered a variety of options. There were other options too, Guys burger bar, the Blue Iguana burrito bar, deli and pizza which were also good. We did not eat at any of the specialty restaraunts. The pool was not open in port and that was sort of a disappointment, but we watched the Eclipse from the Lido deck. We got my grandson registered into the Circe C kids club (12-14), which he loved. They had parties, video games, scavenger hunts, went to shows and had snacks at midnight every night. He couldn't get enough and it gave us some adult time too. We enjoyed the Dream Bar (Casino) the most. The bartenders, Nikki, Ali, Natasha, Rade, Allen, Anak and Pattanun were awesome. They addressed you by name and never left you dry. The drinks were well made and not watered down. The dining room staff were efficient and friendly and there were plenty of food options. It just seemed like your food was never HOT, just lukewarm, no matter where you ate except the pizza and deli.

We ended up being diverted twice to New Orleans due to Hurricane Harvey hitting our home of Houston and were on the ship for a total of 11 days. The crew and staff were awesome, they swapped out or brought in additional entertainment, which was amazing, and kept us busy during the additional days on board. Most of their staff were awesome and friendly and by the end of the cruise, we almost hated to leave our new found friends. We can;t say enough positive things about how Carnival took care of us during a very stressful time, when our city was flooding. They kept us safe from the storm and returned us home once it was safe to do so and the port was opened again. I would not hesitate to sail with Carnival again.

The cabin was cleaned and well maintained. The shower was difficult to regulate and always seemed to hot. Our steward, Hamid was friendly and efficient. He always greeted us by name when we saw him.
