What an experience! We loved having such a wide variety of activities all the time. The glassblowing was fascinating; interesting, informative, and impressive. And the dancing! We could dance all of the time and the music was fun. We loved the silent disco. There was an astronomer on the cruise that guided us through seeing the solar eclipse. I thought we would totally miss it, but were able to see it with the glasses provided. Last, but not least, the food... it was so fresh and healthy. Portions were just right.
Our excursions were fun, too. We did a bike tour of San Juan, tasting the fresh organic bananas. Afterwards we ate at Aquaviva in Old San Juan. Mofongo is a staple, like potatoes or rice. It is made from the plantains. On St. Thomas, our original excursion was cancelled at the last minute but we were able to get on the fast catamaran. We snorkeled with the sea turtles, then went to a secluded beach. On St. Maartin, we did our own thing and chilled at the beach with buckets of Coronas. This was a wonderful experience for us and we're wondering why we waited 30 years before going on a cruise.
It was roomy enough. We loved having a balcony. It made the room seem larger. Our cabin steward was wonderful. Every time we went back to the room we had fresh towels and our bed was either made or prepared for the night.
We had paella that was amazing! Downtown next Hampton Inn and Suites.
We walked to the beach, rented chairs with umbrellas, and drank buckets of Corona.
