Cabin: Concierge Class 1

We live in Florida and decided to cruise on the Equinox as we had been on the ship a few years ago on the Mediterranean. We chose a concierge cabin. The perks were priority check in...we were directed to the regular line and when we realized we weren't directed to the priority line, asked another employee who directed us to the proper one. We did get a sit down lunch while the cabin was readied. And also some hardly edible "snacks" in the cabin each afternoon. If you like olives, one deviled egg to share, or squares of sponge cake go for the added expense. The Concierge on the floor was less help than our cabin attendant who was awesome!! Not worth the up charge. We decided to take the classic beverage package as the vodka we drink was on it. Surprise!!! If you try to order your classic vodka at the martini bar they upcharge you $3.00. Why? Because the glass is bigger. Felt a bit nickel and dimed. Don't try select dining unless you can plan ahead and decide each day what time you want to eat. If not, you'll be handed a buzzer like at a chain restaurant and have to wait. The food in the main dining room seemed so different from our first cruise. The portions were much smaller and the quality not as good. You can still order more than one portion. My lamb chops were less than 1/2" thick. Two bites for each. Sent them back. Lobster tails were the size of large shrimp. We dined at the Tuscan Grille which was lovely., but drunken diners spouting f-bombs ruined the evening and the Maitre D did not remove them choosing to ruin every other diners' experience in order not to have to confront them. The pool music was way too loud and a constant pounding rock. We get it that the cruise director has pool games that are raucous, but island music would be nice in between. There's no place but the solarium to relax, but the whole idea of a cruise is to enjoy sailing outside. We stayed on the ship at San Juan, walked around Charlotte Amalie (run down since last there), and enjoyed San Martaan. If you go there, walk from the water taxi to the Main Street, go a short walk to the right where there's a hotel with a breezeway with a bar. You can rent 2 chairs, an umbrella and get 4 drinks for $25. Lovely for lunch, too. We will give Celebrity another go as we booked a transatlantic in April on the Reflection. Will see if the European sailings are different.

Concierge Class 1

Cabin C1

Not sure which concierge class we were in. The cabin is small but we don't spend much time in it. Plenty of hanging space but I empty the basket with the life jackets and use for bathing suits etc.
