Our group of 3 couples had planned a cruise for September on Princess and when someone had a conflict on dates we moved our cruise to August and selected the Celebrity cruise because of it's Friday departure time.

Embarkation and debarkation were crowded, but moved along quickly - no complaints here.

The ship was well maintained and the crew were awesome! Loved our select dining team - Inacio, Christopher and Benvinedo! After the second dinner they knew all our preferences. One night my husband joked that he could have eaten two creme brulee and the next night that was what was brought to him (yes, he did eat both). I will say "Select Dining" was different than I've experienced in the past. We didn't have to choose an early or late seating and stick with it, but the only options were an early or late seating - ask for 6 pm or 7 pm and forget about it. It was 5:30 or 8:30. So I guess your "Select Dining" was you could choose between early and late. Food was okay - I've had more selection on other cruise lines. Was hoping for some special Alaskan menus, but didn't really get any. They did offer a crab shack, but one our cruise mates said it was much more expensive than the one on Princess with less food (one king crab leg as opposed to 3 with shrimp). On the NCL line we had a beautiful huge outdoor salmon bbq - it was amazing.

Victoria

We love Victoria and come up here when we get the chance. Just spent our time walking through the city, watching the buskers and doing some shopping. Love Rogers Chocolates and David's Teas (Murchies was closed). Also got a chance to buy products at Lush at a discount with the exchange rate (be sure to use your credit card otherwise they just do an equal exchange for American to Canadian dollars and you end up with Canadian dollars you might not get a chance to spend).
