Selected this cruise because found it to be the ONLY cruise visiting ALL the Baltic countries and advertised its internet as the fastest in the industry. In fact, we did visit all the countries but found the internet is slowest we have every experienced after cruising for 20 or more years with several other cruise lines. Foreced to cancel the package we had purchased and will consider any possible future cruise with RCCL to the true and real quality of its internet. Our conclusion in this respect is that RCCL grossly misleads (to say the least) and the internet manager with whom we talked many times agreed with us, attempting to justify the slow speed to the age of the ship, thereby disregarding the ship's refurbishing a few years ago.

Overall, we were satisfied with the cruise, but have several comments and suggestions (or criticisms). Cabin was wonderful, much larger than expected because the website presentation is insufficiently clear (including its very large veranda). Yet, found missing amenities commonly found in suites such as ours, to adequately value the cabin--no shower cap, no shoe horn, cooler filled (ours was empty) since sodas and juices are available elsewhere for suite passengers. More important, however, for us at least, is that all of the grand suites (we were told) have bathtubs, which for my wife makes very dangerous going in and out. This surprises us since in other ships we have always been able to find suites with showers only. For us this was a very negative fact and would recommend making available such cabins, even if only a few, in future ships whether new or refurbished.

Also found the TV inadequate -- no classical and soft music, even though channels are available (such as the one showing front of camera, among others), no sport channels, no access to account. Would recommend placing soft and classical music is some TV channels, adding a reading light so not bother partner sleeping, and adding a means of listening and seeing television without bothering the sleeping partner (such as having bluetooth technology and charging for it, or having a cable for earphones and perhaps also charging for it or allowing the passenger to use his or her own ). This would be unique to RCCL since no one in the industry provides this amenity. We have made a similar recommendation to Regent Seven Seas and will do so to Azamara when we travel with them in November.

Cabin Review

Grand Suite

Cabin GS

Much larger than expected, with a veranda and bathroom also much larger than expected. Lacked bathing cap and shoe horn, refrigerator was empty although the concierge service available to GS passengers offers these complimentary. Closets and cabinets larger than expected, in fact we had more space than we have ever had in other cruise cabins. Mirrors everywhere made the room lighter and spacier. TV was slightly small for such a large room, but more importantly, had no channels to hear classical and/or soft music. The music shown accompanied advertising of future cruises and excursions. The cabin also lacked a clock and night light to permit reading without bothering the sleeping partner (wife). Overall, nonetheless, very satisfied.
