We chose this cruise because it was of the Baltic Sea and offered three days in St. Petersburg. For the first half of the trip, the food was fabulous, for the last half it was still very good but I wanted different tastes and flavors; I like highly flavored foods.
We are from the Napa and Sonoma areas so we were looking for European wines. On a 10 day cruise we ordered wine about five times. We were both amused and proud of our local wineries when we saw how many of the wines were from our hometowns. To the Sommeliers we expressed our disappointment with the European wine selection. Two or three of them responded with snobbery, looks of distain, and other arrogant posturing specifically pointing out the most expense European wines on the list as their recommendation. That turned us off to ordering wine.
With the exception of those sommeliers and an obnoxious head of shore excursions, all other staff we encountered were wonderful.
Should never have 3 adults in this room with that uncomfortable sofa bed.
Bathroom was spacious with separate tub and shower and plenty of counter and shelving. The Bulgari soaps and lotions were wonderful and the towels were soft and absorbent.
Crew always made sure we had bottled water in the room, chilled in the small refrigerator, along with snacks and an evening chocolate.
I wish I could say the room was excellent because it would have been had we just had two people in the room. However, we were not informed by Oceania or our travel agent that it was a bad idea to have three friends all together in one cabin; that using an awful sofa bed would block half of the room when it was open. We would have considered a suite.
We used the red bus to hop on and off as we toured the town.
Use the red bus to hop off and on as you tour the city on your own. We got a discount on a canal tour and met some people who had just finished the tour we were about to begin.
