I have a bucket list and a cruise including the Greek islands was on it. I'm retired with a flexible schedule so at least weekly I get on the internet looking for cruise deals that hit that bucket list. This 14 night cruise popped up offering a great price for a balcony cabin. I checked reviews on the Cruise Critic website and became worried that this was a gamble that might not pay off. My fiance and I like dressing up for dinner and Cunard's evening dress code seemed a perfect fit. If the previous Queen Victoria cruise reviews were true experiences I believe Cunard has taken action to improve every aspect of the cruise experience. I cruise at least twice a year and previously cruised 15 cruises with Royal Caribbean, Princess, and more recently Celebrity.

The Britannia dining room food we experienced offered a menu that was different every night, beautiful presentation, perfectly cooked, served hot, well seasoned, and an adequate portion size. I never eat desert at home but we got hooked on their excellent deserts! We ate the buffet for breakfast and lunch and enjoyed the very tasty food. The fish was being cooked behind to the buffet line and was excellent! I noticed a woman daily checking the dinner meals coming from the galley and checking the buffet food and always checked with us for feed back. We never felt the need to try the upscale dining rooms. At home I drink Cabernet blends and I didn't find a red wine I enjoyed and the onboard drink and wine prices are expensive ... my fiance enjoyed the better house Chilean Chardonnay next time I will bring my own on board and pay corkage.

The balcony cabin was a nice size with adequate closets, a comfortable bed, a large flat screen tv, nice sized balcony, and our room attendant was pleasant and did a great job. Getting on and off the ship was fast and efficient. There was no waiting around for the room to be ready and our suit cases beat us to the cabin!! Every night we attended the 10:30 show which featured British entertainers and the house entertainment groups were very good. Everyone on board was very pleasant. We took one ok excursion in Corfu otherwise we did our own thing which for us worked out well. The ports were half good and half were lame. We will check first with Cunard for our next cruise!
