We had an excellent wait staff in our traditional dining room Tassanee and Juan Carlos made a good team. Everyone in the dining room was friendly and helpful. The itinerary was the inland passage with a cruise day in Glacier Bay. We stopped in Juneau the first day we went on the evening whale watching cruise. We were able to see 4 humpback whales with a very close proximity of one they called Flame. It evidently returns yearly to feed after their long trip to Maui. Our next excursion was a rafting trip in Haines. We traveled from Skagway by ferry and the bus to the river for a rafting trip in the eagle preserve We saw over 30 eagles both adults and juveniles. In the trees and feeding on the shore. Glacier Bay was superb We stayed at the glacier for 2 hours. It must have "calfed" over a dozen times. Just terrific. The only excursion we wouldn't repeat is the Misty Fjords in Ketchikan. It was a long boat ride to get to the Preserve which was beautiful, but all of Alaska is beautiful scenery. We did see harbor seals and a few eagles but, eagles are all over the place in Alaska. We stopped in Victoria for our last port and we took a ride to the Butterflies and to the Butchart Gardens. It was too hurried at the gardens. We were in port for only 6 hours. The Gardens are beautiful. The flowers are on full display. We saw many whales on our way down the coast from Victoria. We left Victoria around 2 pm. We ate dinner in the Crown Grill and we watched the whales out the dining room windows. By the way we had pretty good weather for Alaska. 50s-60 every day. The ship was in fine fetter and the staff was pleasant all around. We especially like the involvement by passengers in the entertainment area. The Princess "Voice" competition was excellent. Top notch entertainment. The geologist that spoke of Alaska was an excellent source. The hot tubs in the morning were readily available. We enjoyed the cruise. By the way, we were part of the entertainment in the atrium. We took the harmonica class and about 15 of us played "Clementine". It was a hoot!
Very nice room and an excellent bed. We enjoyed the view from our room. We saw many whales afar off from our mini suite balcony. The mini was especially nice because of the cold weather and the availability of the sofa by the window. We were still able to view the outside.
We stayed around the glacier for over an hour. Lots of calving....very loud from a mile away. Great day!
This is the port we embarked from and returned to.
