We sailed on the Idi from Amsterdam to Basel. First sailing of the season, so we were fortunate enough to get aboard early in the morning, drop our luggage, and take a cab into Amsterdam for some private touring. Our standard cabin was just fine for our purposes. The food is awesome. Tip - buy the extra spirits package if you drink alcohol.. Worth it. Excursions are fantastic, those included and those offered. We purchased 3 additional excursions and all were excellent and worth it. Drink beer in Cologne! Service throughout this cruise is first class all the way! What a great crew and experience! We will go on another Viking cruise for sure. Looking at the Danube next time. Castles and Cathedrals is something we shall always remember and cherish. Bottom line is that you don't have to think and plan... it is done for you! Don't put off this opportunity. It is worth every penny.
