Had circled this cruise as a possibility when I rcvd the Princess Cruise atlas. Inquired and told all verandas were sold out and thought price was high. Then in a last minute special e-mail I get from Princess price was lowered and then 1 week later lowered again. Bked at a good price a partially obstructed cabin on E deck. Knew the Crown in need of work and since was round trip South Hampton would have lots of Brits on board. Out of +3,000 on board about 2,000 were Brits. Thats why I chuckle on comments about American service etc etc. All the nonproduction shows were British slanted, including both comedians(both awful) and tribute show to Robbie Wms.
Cabin same size and lay out of veranda cabin without veranda - bed was not over the window as some outside cabins. Steward was good. I always tell them I want cabin serviced early, ice early evening etc. Give a small tip first day of cruise. Left a note if something was needed and he always responded. A few towels were tattered. We are Elite so bar set up was appreciated( if u do not like one of their choices ask to" trade"for your preference) Laundry ws a treat but took 3 days. Wound up washing denimsand other dark items at the $6 launderette. At one time it was free and then $2, at leastcan use cruise card and not sourge around for change.
Food was good, a few were very good. We are NOT buffet persons. Ate 1 bkfst and 1 lunch in Horizon court. Both times barely acceptable. Tried pizza once - terrible!! saucetasted liked our canned tomato sauce - no spices,no garlic. It was served hot. Used roomservice for brkfts when we had early tour - chili one day for lunch - tea and cake 1 aft.
