This was my first time cruising with RCI and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. I went on on the 7 Night Western Caribbean on Allure of the Seas (7/2/2017.) It was also my first time departing from Port Everglades. Everything went smooth and before I knew it I was on board this beautiful cruise. The staff were very nice and helpful. I liked that the ship had several pools to choose from. I knew that the ship might be packed as I am cruising in the summer time but, oddly enough it did not feel this way. The food was good but, not the best. So far, NCL has the best food. I am an avid cruiser and these are some deciding factors when booking my next cruise. One thing I did notice was that they did not have as many pool activities as does NCL or Carnival. They had the occasional sports pool games but, not the other games that I am used to. Also, I had issues with my stateroom pillows; they were not as fluffy. I am not sure if this is standard with RCI but I have never had an issue with this on NCL or Carnival. My wife actually suffered a neck sprain on our second night. The ports of call were good (Labadee Haiti, Falmouth Jamaica, and Cozumel Mexico.) Only negative is I still prefer Half-Moon Cay as the best private island. Labadee really did not "wow" me. Overall I would recommend RCI for any first time cruisers.
