I chose this cruise because it was to be with family - 9 of us altogether to enjoy the trip around the British Isles. I had been on Princess ships on 13 previous occasions. All seemed to go fairly well at the start - embarkation. We had visited Guernsey, Cobh (for Cork) Dublin, , Belfast, and Glasgow when the captain announced that due to a storm potential at Kirkwall in the Orkney Isles- so he said a nasty storm was predicted - we would bypass this port, and eventually we would go to Invergordon in the afternoon of that day. He said - "he shared in our disappointment". This was to be a significant port, and as it turned out the weather forecast was poor - we could have gone there.. Several days at sea, and half day at Invergordon - nothing there to do!!. At Edinburgh we were delayed by waves and wind such that tendering to a wharf was delayed for most people until noon giving us 4 hours to see Edinburgh - no flexibility - the port authority would not extend times. They couldn't or wouldn't(?) tie up at Leith pier for whatever reason. So 2 significant ports were missed due to incompetence - my opinion. No compensation- no nothing!! Princess HQ say they can do nothing about any of this.
Princess has become a penny-pinching operation over the last year, what with coffee cards not fully re-usable on a different cruise, to charging for burgers, specialty dining which is way below even the buffet, shutting down dining options early, and reneging on contracts to give credit for specialty dining. I would skip the option to take this cruise, and also the ship!!
Very Good service by a hard-working steward -I'd say over-worked
