I chose to sail with Royal Caribbean as I have been on several cruises with them and not been disappointed. Lovely big ship with loads of activity and enteratinment going on. Lots of activity for children. Staff are polite and helpful. Very fast embarkation. Dining room food and service were excellent. A huge choice of food in the Windjammer buffet which is very popular and sometimes difficult to get a seat in. Freedom of the Seas was not the cleanest ship I have sailed in. The public toilets cleanliness were not up to Royal Caribbean usual high standard. After a few days we avoided them and used our stateroom most of the time. There was a dress code in the dining room which was not enforced. We turned up on the formal nights suitably dressed to find many guests in shorts, sandals/flip flops. If its casual dressing that is fine but dont say there is a dress code. The ship was very busy and there was a lot of queueing. Some guests were smoking in the non smoking areas. I felt the staff were a bit overwhelmed with the number of guests. Overall we enjoyed our cruise but it was not the best Royal Caribbean cruise we had been on.
