My Husband and I happened on this cruise by accident. The week of this 9 night 'Signature Sailing' for the America's Cup happened to be the only week we could take vacation this summer. The additional 2 nights in the itinerary, and the Regatta Weekend event's for the America's Cup were just icing on the cake.
We flew into Newark the evening before, and stayed at the Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel (on points). The next morning we arrived at the port at 10:30AM, checked in, and waited only 30 minutes before it was announced that we would be boarding early - at 11AM. We were in an AquaClass Cabin, so we were among the first group to board.
Upon boarding the ship, there were servers with trays of complimentary champagne, mimosas, and orange juice. Cabins would not open until 1:30PM, so we wandered around the 'Grand Foyer' area, getting our bearings before heading up to the Ocean View Cafe for a light lunch.
The only faults I can find with the cabin, the worst would be the sofa should be replaced. It was worn and faded, definitely had seen better days. The bed was comfortable, however, in the queen configuration, the 2 mattresses would separate as the night went on, developing
a gap in the center. Our Cabin Steward made sure that the room was clean, and tidy. I wish that the at sea weather had been better so that we could have spent more time on the veranda, but while we were at sea, it was far too foggy, cool and rainy to enjoy.
Easily to handle with or without an excursion. The ship offers a transfer to Quincy market, and it is easy to walk to most of the major sites from there.
