Overall, this was a great cruise and ship. It's been years since I've cruised and I'm impressed with the innovations. I've been on Carnival and Royal and this was my fourth cruise. Here are the details:
Check-in: A breeze. We drove from Staten Island to the Bayonne parking garage - 15 minutes tops. The parking is $20 a day ($80 total). There is a shuttle that will take you to an offsite parking area for about $12 a day. I wanted convenience so I was willing to pay a little more (begrudgingly, of course). The walk from the parking garage to the ship is about 5 minutes. Once inside terminal, simply go to a rep with a laptop, get your photo taken and you're ready to go!
Windjammer: I didn't much care for the food (and I LOVE food.) So for breakfast I stuck with fruit and coffee. There's plenty to choose from but I was always so stuffed from dinner, who needs pancakes?
We thought we'd have a couch in our room but we didn't. It was big enough for 2. I enjoyed having the virtual balcony although it didn't make any sound (I heard you could turn up the volume but we couldn't.) We also had a good cabin steward. I couldn't go back to having a regular interior ever again.
