I wanted to see the Hermitage in St. Petersburg mainly. In spite of this being a small ship as far as ocean going cruises is concerned, I still felt "herded" on a grand scale every day. That is my issue and not Viking's. It goes with the territory. I was disappointed in the Jewish Heritage tour in Gdansk. Very thin from a content point of view. Most tour guides were excellent as were the tours but there was little opportunity to explore on your own.

The concierge women were less than helpful when I asked about certain chairs (look it up in the art guide - they weren't in there) and when I lost my cell phone in Stavanger (I had to keep going back to see if they'd heard from the boat tour operator and they were not concerned).

Flights: United - the tv screen holder was filled with mold and I spent the night sneezing with itchy, watery eyes. It wasn't until morning that I could see the extent of the mold. United "generously" gave me a $25 credit on my next flight. Coming back on Icelandic Air. There was confusion at the Bergen airport for check in and it took way too long. They needed more people checking in luggage. I had never been informed that my meal was covered so bought something and then the attendant asked who Rebecca was, clearly I was sitting in my seat in the correct row. I was told I had a meal provided. Irritated, I asked for a refund and took the meal provided. The attendant told me I could keep the other meal for later. I told her I didn't want two meals and insisted on a refund. The airport in Reykjavek was disorderly as well. It was not clear what gate we should be using and no announcement was ever made for our flight. The board said this was a flight to London so I had to go up to ask.
