We joined Rhapsody in Venice after 3 nights at Lake Garda. Transferring from Venice St Lucia rail station to the ship was easy via the excellent Venice People Mover. Embarkation was smooth and efficient as usual and cabins were ready by about 1.30pm. (Debarkation was also a breeze, we checked our luggage into at the Luggage Store in Piazzale Roma and spent a pleasant day in Venice before our evening flight home).

Rhapsody is an old lady by today's measures but she was well presented, clean and everything seemed to be working OK. Our inside cabin on Deck 7 was perfectly positioned for ease of access to all areas. It met our needs completely for a short 7 day cruise. The cabin facilities don't compare to say an Anthem OTS but there was plenty of storage (except in bathroom), the layout was good and it was quiet.

Main Dining Room Dinner service was good (well done Noel), my wife's gluten free needs were met with care and attention. Food quality was perfectly good with plenty of variety day to day. MDR breakfast and lunch were great with good prompt service making trips to the busy Windjammer unnecessary. Celebration dinner in Giovanni's was excellent as always.

Cabin Review

Interior Stateroom

Cabin N

Chosen for ease of access between pool deck and central decks (including Diamond Lounge!).

Layout was different to usual cabin layout with entrance door at the side but it worked very well and seemed to give more space.

Things like plug sockets were well worn such that heavier adaptors etc sagged without support.

Bathroom has shower curtain as do all the ships until you get to Voyager class.

Very quiet at night and of course very dark for a good night's sleep.

Port Reviews

Venice

Love Venice. Our third visit so have now seen most of the main island. Worthwhile getting in early if you can, as it soon gets crowded in the more tourist areas. Remember to explore the quieter parts.

Dubrovnik

We arrived in the old city at about midday on this cruise and it was very crowded. The city walls access charge seemed expensive at ~ £20

It's well worth seeing but can be crowded and expensive

Kotor

Lovely old town to wander around. Very reasonable prices. Early morning climb ( ~ 1500 steps) to St Johns Fortress (3 Euros) a good way to work off some of the food and drink.
