Have cruised on the Epic many times. An interestng itinerary with good ports of call. 6 in total with 1 sea day.The main reason we cruise on this ship is because the SIGLO band is on board. 4 x Filipino guys, all super talented. Can play any type of music, ballads rock and pop, whatever you want. They play in the Cavern Club each night and really rock the place.Althugh I have heard good reviews about Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Howl at the Moon and Burn the Floor, Siglo are the band to see, we go to the Cavern every night and would not go anywhere else.

As regards cruise value my husband and I personally do not like the premium all inclusive package that NCL have just imposed on Brits and Europeans but unfortuanately no option when you book, regardless of who you book with. The prem all incl means that tips are included at $13.50 a day each. We never used to pay these as we always take US dollars with us and tip who we want throughout the cruise. Also as part of the deal each member of your party gets 2 x 1 litre bottle of water per day so for 2 of you on a 7 day trip you get 14 litres of water. You are no longer allowed to bring your own bottled water or soft drinks purchased ashore on board. The daft thing is you could take some of this water from NCL ashore with you at each port but on returning to the ship you have to ditch it if you havent drunk it all. As stated we accept the prem all inclusive as no other option and keep coming back on the Epic only because of Siglo. If they were moved to another NCL ship we would cruise on that one.

As regards cabins we used to book balconies but now because of price we book inside. We always book a guarantee inside and are usually allocated a cabin on deck 10. No problem with cabin athough we prefer toilet, shower and basin to be together not separate. However it is only the Epic that is like this, other NCL ships have the usual separate room. Inside cabins a good size, plenty of room, we find balcony cabins a bit cramped especially as we have the beds split into 2 singles. Not much room between the bottom of the bed and the table area etc. One of the best value restaurants on board is the Modereno with a cover charge of $24.99 each but is worth it. Variety of starters- help yourself and all types of meat and chicken served to you until you say no. Also a good selection of desserts. Food is well presented and hot. We mainly dined in the Garden cafe each day which offers a good selection of food, To stop your food going cold whlst you go to the different food stations and before you get back to your table, cover your plate with another plate. I know this sounds simple but it really works and keeps your food hot. O Sheenans bar is also good for food, good selection and food served hot. No problems with any of the crew on board, always found them helpful and polite. Did not use spa or fitness suite.
