I cruised with a friend from Australia (I travelled from UK) and this itinerary suited us for sightseeing in Europe. We stayed in Barcelona a great city with cheap and easy travel - even getting from the airport for eq of a euro ! ( Buy a T10 ticket at station = 10 trips for 9.99 euro - valid for airport train to Sants station and all metro and bus trips - can be used for multiple people on same trip ie a family - nb does not include aerobus)
I have cruised with 5 other lines and really enjoyed NCL Epic. A great combination of nationalities which resulted in a variety of foods, a spread of peak meal times and meant the entertainment was varied - ie not targeted for American, Europeans or Asians exclusively as I have experienced in the past.
There was free coffee, tea and soft juices all day.
3 euro cruise shuttle to bottom of Ramblas. Buy a T10 Ticket ( at metro station) valid for 10 trips on bus/ metro can be used for multiple travellers ie a family. Saves a fortune. The mumber 24 bus goes from Placa Catalunya - top of ramblas to Parc Guell for 1 T10 trip.
T10 is also valid for airport train from Sants station to El prat.
I would highly recommend pre-booking tickets online for Parc Guell and Sagrada as all tickets were sold out for the day on arrival so I was glad we had done that.
WAlk or taxi to station ( nb walk is not 15 minutes it's more like 30 at a good pace) - about 12 Euro in taxi.
Take circumnavica train - at top of station -to Pompei or Sorrento about 3.60 euro.
Theres also a tourist train ( Pink signs and agents selling tickets) for a faster express trip for more money.
Take shuttle bus to station from port coach park. 12 Euro on train return includes buses and metro in Rome. 45 Mins to St Pauls ( for vatacan) and about 75 minds to Rome Termini.
Don't get ripped off by the office at the station which sells the train ticket for more but is actually the agent for the hop on buses - just go to the station desk.
Take note ! leave plenty of time to get back - the trains go from the last platform at rome Termni - it's like an airport . Takes less time from St Pauls.
Shuttle to town - 5 euro return ( by the port staff not ship )
Bus to station then 15 minutes on train to Pisa about 11 euro for 2 return.- easy day out and very cheap.
1.5 Euro on airport bus to town. Can be caught just to the right on main road as doesn't enter the port on cruise days ( ?? why ) Taxi about 14 euro return.
Catch back just on main road opp direction.
Lovely town great for a half day stroll and late arrival gives a nice late start.
We took train to Monte Carlo but actually Cannes was much nicer and cheaper.
