Did this cruise as first of a B2B. Wonderful cities and towns to explore, history everywhere you looked. The itinerary was special with Dover, Edinburgh, Inverness, Glasgow, Dublin and St. Peters Port. We were so ready for a change from the Caribbean ports.

Booked all our excursions with private tour companies and groups formed on Cruise Critic. We saw more and it cost significantly less than ships tours.

Researched all the stops in preparation for the trip. When we were winging it in a port, it did save a little time when we had bought our tickets online before we went. Edinburgh Castle, dated ticket. Book of Kells, timed ticket (Dublin), and definitly Kilmainham Goal, timed ticket (Dublin)

Port Reviews

Dublin

On our own, went to Kilmainham Goal (prebooked tickets on line); walked around city, lunch in a pub, National Gallery of Archeaology, and Brazen Head for storytelling and dinner.

Day 2 half day, Prebooked tickets to Book of Kells.

St. Peter Port (Guernsey)

Very walkable small city. Went to Hauteville house ( Victor Hugo) and Victorian Shop & Parlour. Then the town invited strolling around and stopping into small shops for a bite to eat, a drink or ice cream.
