Sail Date: May 2017
Cabin: Interior Stateroom with Virtual Balcony

We booked this five-day aboard Anthem to experience a new class of ship. Diamond Plus and have seen most of the other RCI ships, but we wanted to see what the Quantum class offers. We were very impressed with the modern room, glass shower, virtual balcony in our interior cabin, 270, iFly and Northstar (although we couldn't ride Northstar due to weather).

Food quality on Royal seems to have declined over the years, but it's still very good. Chops is fine (except they need a few additional choices) but we do miss Portofinos (as do everyone else we ask). We'll undoubtedly sail on another Quantum class in the future, but won't be in a rush to do so. The other RCI ships are just fine. The Royal Caribbean app for the iPhone leaves a lot to be desired. Your calendar only shows entertainment you've booked, and fee-based restaurant reservations. It would be really nice to be able to add our own events on this calendar. Until it gets improved, it's largely useless. But this doesn't take away from our very positive experience on Anthem.

Cabin Review

Interior Stateroom with Virtual Balcony

Cabin V4

Very interior room, but 160 sq ft is large enough for the two of us. It was quiet, despite being right under Adventure Ocean. The thermostat is the best we've seen and controls room temp quickly and accurately. No waiting for hot water in the sink or shower either. We won't hesitate to book another good-value interior room like this one in the future.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Its a challenge getting to the cruise terminal, but that's just northern NJ traffic and roads. The new parking garage is great. $20 per day but worth it.
