We chose this cruise because of the itinerary, price and reviews of the ship after its refurbishment. We were able to board the ship quickly at 11 am in Civitavecchia and enjoy 6 hours on the ship before departure. Disembarkation was quick and we were able to locate our luggage quickly and get on the shuttle bus within a couple of minutes. We had one of the new cabins on Deck 11 by the spa and found it to be wonderful - clean and bright with a comfortable bed, good lighting, AC and a nice bathroom. We had very smooth seas so did not feel much motion being up higher and in the front of the ship. We did not notice any noise from the jogging track above. Only minor criticism is that the balcony projects out from the deck above, so if you are out on your balcony all the way towards the rail, people from above that lean out over deck 12 railing can look down onto you, but it was not an issue most of the time. It was nice as there are only 12 rooms by themselves, so felt very private and enjoyed being on the same deck as the pools and Windjammer Cafe and one deck below the fitness facility and walking/jogging track. Overall, we have had good experience on Royal Caribbean but this cruise and the ship were much better than we had anticipated. The dining room wait staff was great and we felt the food was just as good if not better than a Celebrity cruise we took a couple of years ago. Our room attendant was also top notch. Entertainment and activities were decent - not fantastic but a couple of good shows. It was a good sampler of Sicily, the Amalfi Coast and Greek islands and Athens, but we were only in port from 7 am to 5 pm most days, so you don't get to enjoy evenings in the ports. Loved Mykonos and Santorini, so want to go back to spend more time. The Amalfi Coast and Pompeii were amazing also. It was great to see Athens and the Acropolis but don't have much desire to go back (we did not have a good tour guide on that shore excursion!). Rhodes was the substitute stop since they cancelled Ephesus, Turkey. Did not really care for Rhodes town itself (very touristy and not much to do or see other than shops and food), but Lindos was fun for the day. Overall a very positive experience and will consider RC for future cruises.

Port Reviews

Rhodes

did Lindos on your own tour, so went to the acropolis and walked around town and did some shopping. Found a small, rooftop terrace restaurant for lunch that was off the beaten path with a great view of the Acropolis. Found Rhodes town to be very touristy and not much else to do

Mykonos

spent the day at the beach and was just what we needed - people very friendly

Taormina (Messina)

fun to go to the volcano and take a short hike and see the countryside along the way. Stopped at a jewelry factory and the beach briefly on the way back. Jewelry factory was actually not a bad stop and they had a pretty decent spread of food for us, we could sit on the terrace, and also try local wine.

Santorini

Took the 6 mile hike along the crater edge from Fira to Oia to get away from the crowds and it was fantastic with killer views. Had a nice lunch at Floga restaurant in Oia before taking the local bus back to Fira.

Naples

views were amazing and had a nice 1/2 boat journey down the coast from Amalfi town to Salerno. Wish we had more time in Amalfi than an hour.
