Embarkation: Left on 8/21/2009,Driving from Ft Lauderdale area to Port at 10AM Got to drop off luggage area at about 11am and then parked the car in the garage. ($20 per day...total cost was $60.00) Then we went thru Check In with out any problems at all. (Get room card, Friday's Freestyle Daily...info on what's up today. Boat drill info, etc.On Boarding ship we were given a choice of Champagne or OJ...a nice start to the cruise. Got into our swim suits and were at the pool by 12 noon. At about 1pm decided to have lunch which was being served at the Garden Cafe, buffet style. Lots to chose from and very good as well.
Decks: We spent alot of time on Deck 11....Garden Cafe location and Pool Area as well. Two pools: Adult only and family which were great. Saltwater. Your floating all the time. Plus 4 hot-tubs a nice way to relax. Plenty of chairs, tables, and lounge chairs. Beach towels as well. Be aware when first entering the pool area to sit, the bar servers are pushing for drinks. I guess thats to be expected. There was also a sundeck and we had plenty of sun for the weekend.And we enjoyed every minute of it. In the pool area you could also find outdoor showers. A "Ice Cream Stand". was available as well. Oh so good. FOOD: Norwegian Free Style Dining was a "big" hit with us. The choice to eat when you want and where is really great. We decided not to eat at the specialty restaurants because we were very happy with the Garden Cafe Buffet. Breakfast, lunch, and Dinner. The wait was never that long. We did try one night traditional dining at the Palace for dinner. Had steak, which was just so-so. Not good enough to make us go back. Other choices might be better. Late night snack are availabe at the Longboard's Lounge.
Entertainment: Music was played in many places thru-out the ship. We love dancing salsa so Dazzles Night Club was our favorite lounge to go to each night from 10pm to 11pm Latin Music was playing and we loved it for the most part. Some of it was just OK. After 11pm Disco music comes on. Do not miss NCL's White hot night at the pool deck on Sat and Toga Night at Dazzles Night Club on Sunday. Both were lots of fun.
Cabin Review
Cabin 0327 AFT was a inside cabin on deck 10 (Very good location). As expected it was a tight fit. But was comfortable for the two of us. Not alot of closet space but we made the best of it. We had more clothes than we needed.
The sailing went very smooth. It was a very quiet location. If budget is a factor for a 4 day-3 night cruise I would recommend it for sure.
