Our 1st South Pacific cruise and we were delighted with the experience, which we enjoyed with 7 friends. Stayed at Sir Stamford Circular Quay on arrival in Sydney which I would recommend as walking distance to the terminal. Got up early to head down and see VOS come into port and the sun rise - great start to the day. Embarkation was easy and quick - we were on the ship within 20 mins and having lunch in the Windjammer.
Our Royal Family suite was perfect for our needs (2 couples) and we enjoyed the very large balcony and view from the back of the ship during the cruise.
There were 700 odd children on board which was a little surprising as out of school holidays however but I expect that is due to the destination and pretty much all Aussies on board.
Just loved our suite at the back of the ship. 180 degree views. Good walking distance to the stairs/lifts - great for exercise and very quiet as only passengers venturing to the back of the ship were those in cabins there. Very comfortable for 2 couples.
Huge balcony however not under cover so not able to venture out in wet weather.
Plenty of storage space as usual for RCI. Lounge area more than adequate for the 4 of us. Not sure how the cabin would go with the 8 people it could accomodate?
Lovely little island - great for swimming and snorkelling. Good to see something of the island though so would recommend a tour either from the ship or plenty on shore to choose from.
Got a private tour to the Garden of the Sleeping Giant - highly recommend visiting this garden which was Raymond Burr's private garden. Not available via a ship excursion unfortunately.
Best location by far. Tiny little island - but the water and swimming are the attractions here. Loved it
Average because the main attractions were all closed on the day we were in Port. Did the yellow hop on hop off bus which was good to see a little of the island. Most of everything quite expensive here. Not sure i would choose to revisit
