This was my first cruise on Celebrity. I usually go on Norweigan, but I received a free cruise from Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut, so i choose this ship because of the itinerary, My first impression was of the cruise line came when I received a message stating that it was going to be delayed one day because of unscheduled repairs. We did not miss any ports, we just lost a sea day..which is ok, since we spend more money on sea days.. As a result, I needed to pay an extra night in a hotel. the cruise line re-funded me for that night (which I asked for in on board credit) and issued my husband a $200 airline credit. We also received a refund to my credit card for $142.50, for the missed night.

the cruise itself was smooth. All ports were arrived at on time, some early. The captain was female. Kate McCue..She was personable, told jokes on the announcements, met with guests at one port. its nice to see a young female with such goals and show the men in the cruise world that she belongs!

I didnt do too many activities on the ship. Since there were no sea days, I am not sure if Celebrity has these, but on other cruise lines, there was always bingo or other games where you can win on board credit. I went to the buffet for breakfast every morning. there was never a huge line and there was always somewhere to sit. The main dining room for dinner was never crowded. We chose Celebrity Select dining and always went at different times. We asked for Gabriel's section each time and never had to wait.

Port Reviews

San Juan

so much to do. Walk over to Old San Juan. Go visit El Morro Fort (A lot of walking and stairs). Take the ferry for $.50 to Catano to tour the Bacardi Factory

St. Thomas

Took a 5 minute taxi to Emerald Beach. good beach bar..clear water and $7 for a chair rental. Not crowded at all

St. Maarten

took a taxi for $16 round trip to Maho Beach. Small beach area but great to see the airplanes fly overhead. Not nearly as loud as I thought they would be

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

the port was nice..just walked around and shopped. didnt care for the constant push to enter the jewelry stores..but I understand that is how they make their money. The casino / restaurant had good drinks.
