Enjoyed the night before the cruise in South Beach almost as much as the port of calls. South Beach felt like it was in a South American. Lot of restaurants on Lincoln Mall to eat lunch and dinner, and a lot of clubs along Oceanside Drive to people watch. It is a 15 minute taxi ride to the port from South Beach. Got at the port about 10:15 and were able to board by 11:00, cabins available at 1:00.
Ship was clean and every crew member I dealt with was very friendly and helpful. Only a very few children on this cruise. Reminded me of spring break for seniors. All the bars and clubs were lively until about 12:00. Entertainment was what I expected for free, but I would not have wanted to pay for any of it. Had a superbowl party in the theater for the big game, with all the hot dogs and chips you would expect for a superbowl party.
We ate at one specialty dining room, the Porch, the first night of the cruise. it was the best steak I ever ate. Wished we had signed up for the specialty restaurant package to sample the other specialty restaurants. The main dining room service was spectacular, but the food was mundane. Our cabin was clean and what we expected. My only complaint was that we were located over a loud automatic door to the deck where everyone would go at all hours to smoke. We self disembarked, and were at the airport at 9:00.
Clean and everything worked as it should. Was a few doors from the elevators and you could be anywhere in 45 seconds. Only complaint was the automatic door on the deck below is probably under this cabin. Every time it opened it sounded like someone was moving a big cart down the hallway, and it opened all night because the door leads to a smoking area that is used 24/7. Bring earplugs.
