I joined a group organized by a blogger who focuses on Royal Caribbean and had a great time meeting the 80 or so people who joined.
We sailed from Port Miami on February 17 on a 9 night itinerary. Embarkation was pretty smooth, but being a lowly Gold in the Crown and Anchor Society did not yield any benefits over non-members. Our line for check-in a little after 10 am was the longest. It took about 25 minutes from curb to boarding.
The 9 night itinerary was a perfect duration with the right number of sea days and the right number of port days.
We stayed on Room 6261, an inside cabin with a view of the Royal Promenade. I is situated directly behind the last "e" of promenade above Promenade Cafe. The location was fantastic in that it was one deck down to all the activities there and two decks down to the Metropolitan Theater. The room itself was fine. It had all the features you would expect, but was a little smaller than some of the other rooms I have had on cruises. The only complaint was that the hinges on the doors to the back room of the cafe squeaked, and it was a little annoying. Requests to have them lubricated seemed to fall on deaf ears. It never kept us up at night, so it wasn't a huge issue.
Beautiful port
The island tour was goofy, fun and informative on festively painted buses and loud music.
