My husband and I are in our late-ish 40s and we loved our short 7 days on Silhouette celebrating our 20th anniversary. We sailed to Eastern Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale. This was our second cruise and first time on Celebrity. Our first cruise was on Royal Caribbean's Independence of the Seas with our older child and friends four years ago. While we really enjoyed that first experience this was even better! We still prefer more private, longer and child-friendly land beach vacations in the Caribbean (3 Grand Cayman and 2 Tortola/BVIs trips over the holidays), but for a quick romantic getaway from winter New England, Celebrity can't be beat!
EMBARKATION was a breeze for us as Concierge passengers. We arrived at the port around 11 am, dropped off our luggage and were on the ship within 30 minutes tops after that. When we stepped onto the 2nd deck, there were crew members serving complimentary champagne and others were on hand to purchase the ubiquitous drink packages and specialty dining. We made only one reservation for Murano for that same night at a good discount.
Then we walked around for a bit to see the ship and went to the Customer Relations desk to inquire about the INTERNET package. I was not sure back home if we'd get a better rate when aboard and decided to wait, which had turned out to be a mistake. If purchased prior to sailing, it would've been $214 for unlimited Internet for one device for the cruise duration, but we ended up paying $249 on the ship that day. I had to have it to keep in touch with our two daughters and my mother though.
A good spacious stateroom two cabins after the hump, which wasn't really an issue for the views, with no noise. Plenty of storage space, good bathroom layout, great shower.
