My wife and I decided to take this cruise as a quick getaway out of NYC. I was a bit worried about sailing from NY in the winter, but we had no issues what so ever with the weather. The seas were not exactly calm, but even in the 10-15 foot swells the ship never really rocked much more than a baby's crib.
We booked a Spa mini-suite with the advantage being access to the Thermal Spa on cold days. I am glad we did, because the first 2 and last 2 days are quite cold. The room itself was pretty good, we had no issues and the bathroom was pretty large. The balcony is small, but we knew that going in. Our cabin steward made sure we had ice every day, made us a few towel animals, got us water, the basics. Nothing outstanding but he didn't get in the way either. The room was kept clean and fresh and the made was made twice a day.
The Thermal Spa was decent overall. They could do a better job maintaining the cleanliness of the actual spa itself though. There were lots of dirty towels thrown about, people saving the heated loungers, which they are not supposed to, a few too many puddles of standing water near the pool and sand/steam room doors. None of it was so bad that you'd not want to use the facilities, but it was not a 5 star spa by any means.
Clean, big bathroom, nice shower, small balcony, beds a bit lumpy after the first few days, free access to thermal spa (make sure you go there the first day to get your free passes though).
It's NYC!
Unless you're going to disney it's almost not worth getting off the ship.
Very nice private island with beaches, bars, food. They are building more and more here so it should only get better. Get here early to get a good chair.
We walked through town and were hustled to buy stuff at every turn. We went to the Hilton to see if we could get a day pass, but they were sold out, so book ahead. We should have gone to Atlantis to look around, but instead went back to ship and had the whole place to ourselves.
