Chose the cruise for the ship and the fact that it went to Key West. We LOVE all Royal Caribbean cruises!!!! The cabin (large ocean view) was awesome...more storage than imaginable, Ninety nine percent of the staff we interacted with were great. Bartenders were very good and our waiter and assistant waiter in the MDR (second seating) were excellent and made our dinnertime very enjoyable...simply terrific. Our cabin steward, while efficient, was "absent" when it came to face-to-face interaction. We actually saw him ONE time. The cabin was clean and neat but when we had a couple of questions...we were not able to find him and had to ask other stewards who were in the hallway. Let's just say...he wasn't "Mr. Personality". Actually, this is the only less-than-satisfactory issue we encountered on the entire cruise.
Brilliance of the Seas is our new FAVORITE ship. Our first time on Her and we have already booked two cruises for 2018 on Brilliance. Just for the benefit of all who are not yet Royal loayists....believe me, it pays to be loyal to RCL.....becoming Diamond status has saved us an amazing amount of money and the treatment is superb. Oh, and the speedy embarkation for Diamond status is A+. We never cruise any other line and will not!!!!
Our cabin was large and had more storage space than even I could use!!! Bathroom was a nice size....not tiny. The window in the stateroom was large, which is awesome as we love waking up to sunshine streaming in first thing in the morning.
We have been to Key West many times and always prefer to walk Duval Street and enjoy the shops and the bars. Our favorites are Irish Kevin's and Sloppy Joe's. Cannot beat the entertainment and the drinks in both of these great places.
Port of Tampa is the easiest port to navigate and our embarkation was very quick.
