First night in Botticelli dining room; Prime Rib excellent
Leave San Pedro Jan s8th 2017; Great weather

Our cruise departed 28th of January 2017 & for us, we had excellent weather really most of the cruise. I think the cruise before us were not so lucky as Souther Cal was getting hit with 3 major storms. We have now cruised 4 times & all with Princess; Ruby in 2011, Crown 2013, Regal/Royal 2015 and back to the Ruby. My wife and I are 51/50.

Embarkation pretty good. arrived about 1200 & on board just after 1230. This cruise was sold out with over 3280 passengers & more kids than I thought would be. I selected assigned dining months ago which I am happy I did as I have heard issues with the anytime dining now which is all we have done previously. The food was pretty good I thought in the dining room. Had prime rib first night, surf & turf, lobster tail one night; all in all I was pleased with dinner. We had selected 6PM but was changed to 530PM which by time you got your food was about 6PM. Service was good as well. Buffet was for breakfast & lunch and overall good. Pizza by the pool excellent. We wish they had Alfredo's like they do on Regal/Royal. Were lucky enough to have pub lunch in the wheel house pub, fish & chips very good as well.

The ship is in good shape overall. Aft pool closed later art of trip and was being repaired when we got back to San Pedro. Like most ships doesn't seem to be enough hot tubs. They fill with kids.

Our room, Baja 618: room was nice BUT what a noisy room. Beds pillows excellent & clean. But the noise that comes all night long and I mean midnight to at least 5AM from across the hall which we found out is where they wash the ships cutlery was so intrusive we did not sleep very good entire trip and came back exhausted. There was constant clanging, clanking, metal on metal bumping (carts). Be warned! Avoid this room!!! It is too bad as this really impacted our cruise experience. Also the odd time at night I'd get the odd sewage smell. Not a lot but enough.
