Reunion with Family from NZ and Canada .
On boarding the ship no one was available to direct us to our cabin .No sign of any staff so different to any other cruises we have been on ,
On arriving to our cabin we unpacked our cases and put one under the bed and the other on the two seater (lack of space for storing bags ) Paper rubbish under the bed and under the cushions on the 2 seater there was a woman's comb and assorted nuts etc.
Bed heads would have been better placed against the porthole end making it a better access.
Bathroom smelt of stale urine and continual sloshing in wall behind toilet.
Rubbish under bed and woman's large comb and nuts under sofa cushions.
A rude awakening around 3am on the second night at sea a large rope dangling back and forward banging against our port hole with a metal frame attached and flashing light .
All in all not a very good experiance .
Port calls were far too short not enough time in each port to much time at sea .
not enough time!
Not enough time!
Not enough Time and Aust day parade on in city.
The Solarium was restricted to adults but there were children running about without supervision.
The elevators were confusing which one was going up or down no sound indication when the doors were opening.
There was a horrible smell in many areas of the ship, both sewage and engine gases.
After every evening meal in the Cascade dining room the staff had obviously been instructed to push the ships paid restaurants and wine tasting etc.- very annoying.
The Schooner Bar was poorly stocked. No Pimms, no Brandy choices and no nuts for 3 days until they found them in the hold. The staff was friendly and hospitable, however.
There was no writing paper or pen and no body wash in our bathroom. The fridge was pathetic. I complained to the room steward and nothing was corrected.
All in all I felt the ship was tired and needed a major make-over.
I did enjoy breakfast in the Windjammer as I found the food was hotter and more variety.
The tea was much hotter than in the Cascades.
