Sail Date: Jan 2017

We wanted to escape the winter and met up w/friends already booked on this cruise. We didn't pick this ship for any other reason. I've noted some interesting points made from other posters that we also noted: the fitness room smells v. smoky as soon as the door opens (definite HVAC issue); a lot of South American families on holiday Jan 14-21, it seems every other room was a group of young girls attending a Quinceanera; the food was good, not great in the main dining room, Windjammer and Solarium; the shows were quirky/fun and some seemed to be trying to channel Cirque de Soleil, and many of the audience members had clearly never attended a Broadway/London show; the enormous size of the ship created crowds and lines at dining (people were standing and eating outside the women's bathroom on arrival because of lack of seating in Windjammer); MyTime dining is code for: "make a reservation and be prepared to stand in line anyway"; arrival (11:30 am) and departure (7:25 am and carried our own luggage off) was smooth and quick; the ship reminds me (and apparently others) of a shopping mall and every opportunity to upcharge you is presented on the trip.

Labadee was an excursion to do without. Wear water shoes, as the water/shore is rocky. The fence topped with barbed wire surrounding the beach speaks for itself.

Picked up a Jamaican tram tour outside the ship and it was well worth the $26. Sassy and informative travel guide. I wish I could remember her name.

Cabin Review

Cabin Interior room

We had an interior state room with plenty of room to unpack. No toiletries, other than a bar of soap, were provided, so pack your fav shampoo, body wash, etc. The "Gel" in the shower dispenser is nasty, and a lower quality than Suave/Generic. The hair dryer is low wattage, which was fine for me with short and thinning hair, but gals with long or thick hair will want to pack their own hair dryer.
