We choose this cruise because of the length of the cruise that leaves on that specific date. We had one particular date and a specific amount of time to be gone.
This ship is smaller than others that we have been on. It was filled with retired people escaping the cold winter. However, that did not affect the activities. Serenade had something going all the time. Good entertainment that we really did not want to miss. But the point of our trip was to slow down and recover from a hectic life. And we were able to do that. We ordered room service, sat on our balcony and read. We did participate in the shows, some games and some restaurants.Everything we participated in was high quality. The nightly entertainment in the theater was amazing. The food served in all of the restaurants was exceptional. The staff was outstanding.
It was a memorable cruise!!! Best we've had.
The cabin was small but was very livable for us. We moved our stuff in and put the luggage away. It worked nicely. It was comfortable.
We were on the 7th deck which sits on the top of the life boats. We were not able to see the water because of the lifeboats. The life boats were an obstruction in our view. We tried to change it after we saw that but the ship was full and they could not move us.
Port Everglades has a webcam that televises every cruise ship leaving. Our grandkids were able to see our departure. That was cool.
Ft. Lauderdale travelers have outgrown the airport. The airport is trying to keep up but shows growth pain. It was a mad house.
We just walked around the port. Grenanda had an old fort to explore. The views from the top of the fort were amazing. We walked to the shops and bought the fresh spices. Most of the town was closed because it was Sunday. This island is Christian.
We hired a taxi at the pier who drove us 15 minutes to a very nice beach. We stayed for a couple of hours and decided to head back to the ship. Taxis were waiting on us. We had lunch in the village by the pier. Great food. Bonaire is an island that I would love to go back to. The people take good care of their island.
