Booking and transfers.
Booked and price included transfers with NCL staff available to help for all except return to Gatwick. BA flight included snack, juice, tea and coffee. The NCL shore reps in Venice were a little disorganised and we nearly missed the coach transfer to the ship.
Embarkation.
Clean but some parts very worn. Sofa would have been thrown away long ago if at home. No kettle for making tea. Room service $7.95 except breakfast. Crew disinterested in rattle which disturbed out first two nights'sleep but I found and remedied the rattling fire locker door on the deck above. On the other hand, a flickering light bulb was renewed very promptly. Good view from balcony.
Cabin serviced twice per day.
Reliable shower.
UK electrical socket.
Safe for valuables.
Ample hanging space in wardrobe.
Plenty of room under the bed for empty suitcases.
Fridge (mini bar - beware the restocking fee.)
TV showing a programme of recent films as well as BBC and Sky news, and ship information.
Reliable and cheap public transport to reach Athens.
You can catch a bus to town if intimidated by the taxi drivers. Very picturesque old town. The walking tour from the town centre is highly recommended.
Probably hectic peak season but of season felt like we were locals. Pleasant shopping centre. Local tourist information rep and bus drivers couldn't be more helpful.
Strict security. English is spoken but Hebrew writing hard to read. The main rail station is very close to the port. Bahá'í gardens week worth a visit. Acre crusader castle can be reached by public transport.
Ships berth right on the quay. Rail available within easy walking distance. Pleasant tavernas on the sea front.
