This is our 3rd time on the Celebrity Summit and while some things have changed, I believe this is still a lovely ship to cruise on and a great value.
Embarkation - We flew into San Juan around 12:30pm the day of the cruise, hopped in a taxi and were at the pier in no time. Lines were almost nonexistent and within 20 - 30 minutes we were on the Summit with a Champagne in hand. Could not have been easier or more pleasant.
Cabin - We were in cabin 7088 a balcony cabin and our cabin was ready as soon as we boarded ship. The cabin is a typical cabin that makes use of every square inch but works well. My one complaint is the only truly accessible electrical outlets are by the desk with nothing near the beds. I guess the cabins are starting to show their age a little as their was some rust and discoloration by the slider to the balcony as well as on the balcony itself. Overall, a very comfortable cabin. Our cabin steward Pablo did a very good job and was never in the way.
Cabin was a "normal" balcony cabin with every inch planned out well. Plenty of closet and drawer space. Bathroom was clean and had enough counter space for almost everything. Nice to put luggage under the bed to get out of the way.
Biggest issue was the only electrical outlets for recharging devices is by the desk. Would love to have a couple by the bed as well.
Took a ferry to Trois Islet and spent some time on the small beach there. It was ok but if you don't do it you are not missing anything.
We walked around Old San Juan after our cruise and thoroughly enjoyed all of it's charm and architecture.
