Loved this repositioning cruise. We are happy to have lots of sea days. Our arrival was delayed but flights and transfer booked with RCI so boarding guaranteed. Boat due to leave at 4pm and we arrived at the berth at 3.55pm! Embarkation was very quick! Disembarkation in Sydney was very smooth as we had completed immigration onboard a couple of days before arrival.
Would probably not bother with the Pacific islands again, especially Suva. Would have liked 2 days in Hawaii rather than Suva. RCI Pearl Harbour tour was good but more time would have been nicer.
My only real complaint was the entertainment. Ice cast brilliant, most of the visiting entertainers were very good however the RCI production cast was woeful. The singers were pathetic and the dancers mediocre. Lots of people were complaining. The Cruise director Graham and his team were very professional and lots of fun. They worked really hard and always had a smile on their face.
Good size cabin. Plenty of seating, window seat and lounge which creates some floor space. Midships, so no sea movement felt. At guest service end of promenade so quiet. I was surprised as just above the promenade how quiet it was. Would have same cabin again.
Tender port. Plenty of tenders. Enjoyed just walking around by ourselves. Free Wifi is available on the island at various points
Hated Suva, filthy place. Would probably be nicer out of CBD. Prefer Nadi on the other side
Used water taxi to get to CBD. $5 Aus each way. Quite a nice trip. Very cheap duty free alcohol available. You can use Aus dollars in the shops and coffee shops. Free Wifi also available
Walked around island, nothing to do on island but you could do a tour to see turtles.. water a little cool to swim this time of year. Coral sand is a little tough on the feet, unless they need exfoliating! We wore reefs but would wear our coral booties next time
Berth is in a commercial port so you have to take a bus, which is complimentary. Plenty of buses both ways. The markets are interesting but not much else there unless you take a tour. Nicer than Suva though
