We chose RCI because a friend had recommended them to us. We chose this particular cruise because we booked last minute and it was one of the few left with rooms available; plus we had never been to California.

Embarking at Seattle was wonderful. It was also our first time in Seattle so we took the early train and arrived just before noon. By this time, it would be wise to start making your way to the cruise terminal as we did. The terminal was already quite full but the lines were moving so there wasn't much fuss getting our bags and ourselves checked in officially. The attendants at the port were friendly and helpful.

The ship itself is breath-taking. It's very large and the interior is spectacular, yet cosy. We gave ourselves the tour down the Royal Promenade (central strip) right away and took in our surroundings with glee. The Cafe Promenade was the only thing open at the time so we sat down for a snack there. Coffee and tea is also available.
