Some background:  I have been on four cruises prior to this one, all with carnival.  I went with my boyfriend who has been on one carnival cruise.  I also went with my father and his girlfriend and this was their first cruise.  We stayed in Barcelona the day before at HCC MontBlanc.  I recommend this hotel because of its location and its very nice.  If you have any questions about my review you can email me at k.m.ferguson13@gmail.com

Day 1:

Got to the pier around 11:00.  No lines at all.  We boarded around 11:30.  We weren't hungry at first so we just walked around the ship.  Our first impressions were great.  The ship was clean and beautiful!  After awhile we went to the grand pacific for a nice sit down lunch.  It was very good, and there was only 3 other tables filled!  Everyone else must have been at the buffet.  We then walked around to all the specialty restaurants because we heard they were giving samples.  Yummy.  We decided on le bistro for tonight.  We went to the bali bar outside by the pool for some drinks.  Pool area was awesome as well.  After that we went to our rooms...they were ready.  Showers were def in order.  Our luggage was brought shortly after the rooms were ready.  After some rest we went to dinner.  Le Bistro was amazing.  I mean everything was great about it:  the food was some of the best on the ship (esp the steak, cagneys should take a lesson from the French!).  The wait staff were awesome, they were soo nice and recognized us everytime we came in or saw us around the ship.  I got escargot (spelling?) it was awesome.  I also got the scallops and those were very good as well.  For main dish someone at my table got the salmon and loved it, I got the lamb it was awesome, and two people got the steak.  They said it was one of the best steaks they have had.  Dessert was good too, the whole meal was a great start to our cruise.  After that we went to the spinnaker lounge.  This became one our favorite places.  We listened and laughted to some karaoke.  After a few drinks we went outside to admire the night sky.  We did not go to the show, we were too excited about the ship that night.  Even though we had just had a great meal my boyfriend and I went to blue lagoon to try some things.  The food here was good, not a long wait to get food.  Off to bed!
