We choose this cruise because it was cheap and we chose to spend the extra money on the excursions. We previously went on Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas for 5 days in May 2013 for our Wedding. Both Cruise lines has pros and cons. Norwegian offers freestyle dining which means instead of having a set dinner time, you could choose the restaurant you wanted to eat at from 5-11pm. They had a snack buffet open 24hrs but also had an Irish bar type that is open 24hrs if you wanted to sit down and be served. Since it was my husband and i, we didn't have any issues ever getting a table where we wanted. Of course there were restaurants that you had to pay for but they basically had your 4 types of dining option available at all times, depending how you felt. if you wanted fancy like we did the night of our anniversary we went to the grand dining hall where there were 3 people waiting for us a, live entertainment and all the fancy stuff you can ask for. They sang to us and gave us a cake with a free bottle of champagne for dining there that night. It was AWESOME!!! There are 2 regular restaurants called taste and savery, you can ware shorts and a nice shirt. Then there's the Irish bar also located near the Atrium so you get to hear the stuff that's going on over there. Of course they had the buffet. The same stuff that was served at the buffet felt fresher at the restaurants. Also, in the morning i could get smoked salmon eggs Benedict. They had free entertainment but nothing we were too crazy about, were only in our 30's, they did have a magic show you had to pay $25 per person to watch. They also had comedy but they said the same jokes every night, maybe replacing one or two. They ALWAYS had stuff going on in the atrium. it was nice because you could come and go as you please and mingle with other cruisers.

Royal Caribbean had the WOW factor. Even though the boat was really old, you could tell they spent money. Norwegian was really nice, since it was 2yrs old but now sure how it will look 10yrs from now. With Royal, if you wanted a restaurant type of dining, you had to eat at your assigned time. We had 2 people added to our guest list last min and 2 that did not book though the agency and at no time were we all able to eat together. my family had to take turns sitting with us. with Norwegian, i feel that they would have been able to accommodate us since they were not trying to feed 2000 people at 1 time. The shows with Royal were more relate able for us but not a whole lot going on on the boat if you didn't see them. They too had an atrium but i don't remember as much stuff going on there.

We had balcony's on both cruises. both were about the same size with the same commodities. i was totally Royal Caribbean 100% until i took this cruise on Norwegian. They are not only cheaper but a more relaxing atmosphere.

Cabin Review

Family Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B2

It was a normal Balcony room. There's nothing like waking up and having a cup of coffee on the balcony looking at one of our ports or the beautiful blue waters of the Caribbean.

Port Reviews

Miami

This is where we got on the boat. Since we are from Orlando Fla (3hrs away) we didnt do anything here. We did pay for parking and had a van take us to the boat which was AWESOME!!!!
