I have sailed with Princess cruises several times and have always loved it. This time however, this was not the case. Princess seems to be cutting corners all over the place and while we (my sister and I) were expecting a wonderful cruise, we only got a mediocre one.
First, the crew is wonderful. They have been very well trained and salute and smile all the time (as it should be). And Royal Princess is a beautiful ship, no question about that.
To start with, the food was not up to standards. I think the chefs should be sent back to culinary school to relearn an art that has been forgotten, if it was ever learned. No taste or so bland to remind of hospital or cafeteria food. Both in the Horizon Court and even in the regular dining rooms with few exceptions. Either a different chef or he/she was inspired that day.
The towels in the cabin seem to have been retrieved from the discards of a third class hotel, thin, harsh and I even got one with a big hole. I could not believe my eyes!
We received 2 small bottles of lotion for 2 persons for 14 days.
From that I can surmise that Princess has become very frugal.
Have been to Barcelona before but really enjoyed it this time. Beautiful city and lots to see.
Went from the docking port to Toulon on our and loved the city. Beautiful and we enjoyed very much.
Just walked around Livorno. Not a very pretty town. But we had visited Italy before and decided to take it easy.
